Ubuntu is a free and open-source operating system that is based on the Linux kernel. It is designed to be user-friendly and easy to use and is widely used on desktop computers, servers, and in the cloud. Ubuntu is developed and maintained by Canonical, a company based in the United Kingdom. It is released on a regular basis, with new versions being released every six months and long-term support (LTS) versions being released every two years.
